Učenice  1.b razreda OŠ Novska, Ana Kalanja i Sara Sorić s učiteljicom i mentoricom, Jasnom Popović Poje, sudjelovale su na  3. Međunarodnom haiku susretu u Vežicama kod Rijeke. Više o njihovom uspjehu rekla je učiteljica Jasna Popović Poje,

I prijašnjih godina na susretima haiku pjesnika, haiku radovi učenika OŠ Novska dobivali su nagrade.  Zahvaljujući učiteljici Jasni Popović Poje, pjesnikinji i književnici za djecu koja ih vodi, kao i potpori ravnateljice Antonije Mirosavljević, u OŠ Novska se njeguje haiku pjesništvo.
